Description

The JAX truly were a band out of place and time in early ‘70s Iowa, and we’re proud to present their impossibly rare self-released 7” single for your insatiable consumption of the wild trash flavor we so delicately serve at this establishment here. Released in an impossibly small edition of 100 copies, for promotional use to secure gigs, no doubt, the band terrorized the Clinton, IA area for years with their wild abandon and impossibly raw sound.

Recorded at the “Trashy Trailer” and using Mike Hammer as “spiritual advisor,” The JAX recorded their theme song twice, a somewhat staid studio version to whet your palate and then the literally insane “live” side, where the band devolves into madness, and seems to bleed all the way through every verse into a savage slop of top-tier party punk that you soon won’t believe you’ve lived without. Original 1973 copies have sold for $975-1000 which always contributes to the insanity factor, so thankfully we’ve got that quantified madness available at a reasonable rate, and once this all clicks in your head, it becomes clear what a bizarrely satisfying missing link of lo-fi proto punk this slab really is, and how it really deserves to be heard!
